On X, Shah revealed the substantial sum, lauding the squad's 'exceptional talent, determination, and sportsmanship.' "I am delighted to declare a prize of Rs125 crores for Team India for their victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The team has demonstrated exceptional talent, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the competition. Congratulations to all the players, coaches, and support staff for this remarkable achievement!" India secured the 2024 T20 World Cup title by defeating South Africa with a seven-run victory in the final on Saturday. Indian bowlers successfully defended 177 after Kohli's valiant 76 off 59 balls. Virat Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma announced their retirement from T20 Internationals on Saturday shortly after India's victory over South Africa. This was followed by Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who also declared his retirement from international series.
