Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, Adarsh Swaika, met with Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, discussing matters concerning the Indian community. During their meeting, Ambassador Swaika also emphasized the current status and future potential of bilateral defense cooperation between India and Kuwait. Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah holds additional roles as the Defense and Interior Minister of Kuwait.

The Indian Embassy in Kuwait shared details of the meeting on X, stating, "Amb @AdarshSwaika1 called on Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Interior. The Ambassador highlighted the state and prospects of bilateral defense cooperation and informed him about issues affecting the Indian community in Kuwait."

Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar visited Kuwait on August 18. During his visit, he met with Kuwait's Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and Prime Minister Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, expressing gratitude for their support in enhancing bilateral relations. Jaishankar also held discussions with his Kuwaiti counterpart, Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, exploring ways to strengthen bilateral ties across various sectors, including increased high-level visits.

Additionally, Jaishankar engaged with the Indian community in Kuwait and representatives of various professional and community associations, praising their accomplishments and contributions to the relationship between India and Kuwait. The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted that Jaishankar's visit was crucial in revitalizing bilateral ties and setting the stage for future exchanges and tangible outcomes.
