A bus carrying at least 40 passengers from India has fallen into a river in Nepal's Tanahun district, according to a spokesperson from Nepal's Armed Police Force.

Asian News International (ANI) cited Kumar Neupane, the spokesperson for the Armed Police Force in Nepal, stating that 14 bodies have been recovered from the river. Deepkumar Raya, a high-ranking police officer, informed ANI via telephone that the bus, which had a number plate from the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, is now on the riverbank. The bus was traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu when the accident occurred, he further explained.

In the meantime, the Uttar Pradesh government is dispatching a senior official to Nepal to determine if any state residents were on the bus. More details about the incident are expected soon.
