The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi has introduced various measures to facilitate Indian expatriates in the emirate to take advantage of the two-month amnesty scheme commencing from September 1. Indian expats are now able to visit any BLS center in the emirate of Abu Dhabi without the need for a prior appointment.

"Applicants can walk into any BLS center in Al Reem, Musaffah, and Al Ain to apply for travel documents without any prior appointment," the embassy stated in a recent announcement. The embassy also highlighted that an emergency certificate (EC) will be provided for those intending to return to India.

"Applicants have the choice to collect the ECs from the Consular Office at the Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi, located at 101,102, first floor, Guardian Tower, Al Saadah Zone I, between 4 pm and 6 pm within 24 hours of submitting their application," the embassy detailed. Expatriates looking to regularize their residency status can apply for a short-validity passport at the BLS centers.

During the amnesty period, the BLS centers will operate on all Sundays from 9 am to 5 pm to accommodate applicants. For further information or inquiries about the procedures, individuals can contact 050-8995583 between 9 am and 6 pm, as noted by the embassy.
