Indian expat Tushar Deshkar, who has recently become a millionaire, is ecstatic after winning Dh15 million in the Big Ticket Abu Dhabi draw with his chosen number 3. Over the past three months, the Abu Dhabi resident has developed an interest in numerology and astrology, leading him to purchase raffle tickets with specific numbers, including 3. This unexpected fortune will be shared among three friends who jointly bought the winning ticket.
“I came to the UAE in 2019. Along with my three friends, who I previously worked with in India, we decided to test our luck at the Big Ticket draw. We've been purchasing tickets for about a year or two. This time, we were fortunate enough that our number was selected,” explained Tushar, a technical consultant at a private sector company. Tushar acquired his winning ticket online during Big Ticket’s ‘Buy 2 get 1 free’ promotion and won with a free ticket. He was lucky with ticket number 334240, purchased on July 31. He disclosed that he used numerology and astrology to determine his lucky numbers and digit patterns for his tickets.
“I selected a few numbers based on numerology and astrology. I believe it paid off this time. Following astrology, I chose numbers that were auspicious for me, and then I used numerology to pick a few numbers that were meant to be beneficial for me. My lucky number is 3,” Tushar shared with Khaleej Times. Despite two previous unsuccessful attempts, his third try proved successful.
“It didn't work out in the previous tries, but this time it did. It might also be a coincidence. I'm not certain. Ultimately, it's God's plan,” he stated. The expat plans to settle his debts and support his family in India with his winnings. “We will keep buying tickets. All this is part of God’s grand plan. Everything turns out for the best.” Tushar mentioned that he is now receiving attention on social media platforms and “getting random friend requests on Facebook and LinkedIn” from unfamiliar people.
This month, Big Ticket is again offering Dh15 million as the grand prize. Tickets can be purchased online or by visiting the in-store counters at Zayed International Airport and Al Ain Airport.
