Throughout the first three Indiana Jones films, Dr. Henry Jones Jr. never encountered a Nazi he didn't want to punch in the face. Indy has faced numerous rivals in each of his cinematic escapades, a tradition that continues in Bethesda and MachineGames' upcoming title, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. This time, Indy's primary adversary is Emmerich Voss, who presents himself as a far more rational man compared to some of Dr. Jones' past enemies. However, a reasonable Nazi remains a Nazi, and he must be thwarted. The trailer showcases several face-to-face encounters between Indy and Voss, including what could be their initial meeting. Based on their interactions, Voss may not pose a significant physical threat to Indy, but his intellect makes him dangerous. Voss was on the trail of the Great Circle before Indy, and he might uncover its secrets if Indy doesn't find them first.
One of the trailer's notable settings is the Vatican, which propels Indy into the Catholic church's city-state during his quest for answers. It's there that he meets reporter Gina Lombardi, the game's primary heroine. Disguised as a nun, Gina is no saint. Her objectives differ from Indy's; she is less interested in his archaeological discovery and more focused on locating her missing sister. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is set to release on Xbox Series X|S and PC on December 9, and it will be available on Game Pass from day one. PC players can also experience the title for just $1 through a PC Game Pass trial. PlayStation 5 owners will have to wait until Spring 2025. This game promises to be one of Indy's most extensive adventures yet, featuring nearly four hours of cutscenes.
