Following Air India, IndiGo has introduced a new option for solo women travellers to choose seating next to a fellow woman passenger. The airline stated that this feature is aimed at enhancing the travel experience for female passengers and is currently in pilot mode, aligning with their #GirlPower ethos. The feature provides visibility of seats booked by female passengers during web check-in, specifically tailored to PNRs with solo women travellers or part of family bookings. IndiGo is committed to providing an unparalleled travel experience for all passengers, with this new feature being one of the many steps taken towards that goal.
Last October, Air India had announced a similar policy for solo female travellers and mothers, offering them the option to choose an alternative seat, ideally aisle or window.
