Australian tech firm InSky Robotics is setting up its inaugural GCC operation, VIM Solar Robotics, in Al Hamra, Ras Al Khaimah. This initiative aims to meet the growing need for robotic solutions in the solar energy sector throughout the GCC. The facility will focus on assembling, storing, and distributing VIM Solar Robotics’ cutting-edge VOLTIMATE robotic cleaners, which are setting new standards in automated cleaning for solar farms. These robots operate mechanically, without batteries or intricate electronics, making them robust enough to endure harsh weather conditions. They have a lifespan exceeding 20 years, matching that of typical solar panels. Additionally, the robots are built using standardized components, which simplifies maintenance and substantially cuts down on operational costs.

“We are thrilled to launch VIM Solar Robotics in Ras Al Khaimah,” said VIM Solar Robotics CEO Aleksei Ermishin. “Acknowledging the pressing need for efficient, low-maintenance robotic cleaning solutions for solar farms in the GCC, we are introducing VOLTIMATE, a technology specifically designed for the UAE’s unique requirements. The Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) has been crucial in supporting our UAE establishment, offering essential assistance that aligns with our high-tech operational requirements.” Ermishin further commented on the location choice: “With RAKEZ’s invaluable support, we selected Ras Al Khaimah for its rapid growth and strategic position in the UAE. RAKEZ streamlined the company registration process and provided excellent facilities for our manufacturing and storage needs. Their support and resources have been instrumental in helping us establish our presence in this vibrant market. RAKEZ’s dedication to business growth and innovation makes Ras Al Khaimah the ideal location for our GCC expansion.”

RAKEZ Group CEO Ramy Jallad expressed his excitement, saying, “We are delighted to be VIM Solar Robotics’ first regional home. Their presence in Ras Al Khaimah highlights the unique strategic advantages our emirate offers to advanced tech companies. This investment underscores RAKEZ’s role as a rising hub for technology and sustainable energy, perfectly aligning with our commitment to fostering industrial growth and technological innovation across the region.” The team behind VOLTIMATE and VIM Solar Robotics, a group of innovative engineers, brings 12 years of experience from JoyMechanix, a brand that transformed the TV and broadcasting industry with its robotic camera motion systems. One of their notable projects in the GCC was providing TV broadcasting robotics for the Saudi Cup, the world’s richest horse racing event.
