Iran has refuted claims that it played a role in the killing of Israeli citizen Zvi Kogan in the United Arab Emirates, according to a statement from Iran's embassy in Abu Dhabi to Reuters on Sunday.
This denial follows the UAE's confirmation of the arrest of three suspects linked to the crime. Kogan, who also held Moldovan citizenship, was reported missing by his family on November 21. An investigation ensued, leading to the discovery of his body and the identification of the perpetrators. Legal actions have now commenced against the detained suspects, as authorities announced.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office condemned Kogan's murder as a 'heinous' act. The UAE has emphasized that it will employ 'all legal powers to respond decisively and without leniency to any actions or attempts that threaten societal stability.'
