Tehran has not dispatched hypersonic missiles to Yemen's Houthis, according to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who made the statement during a televised news conference on Monday. This announcement came just a day after the Iran-backed group claimed that a missile they launched towards Israel was of the hypersonic variety.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded by declaring that Israel would exact a 'heavy price' from the Houthis, who control northern Yemen, after they managed to send a missile into central Israel on Sunday for the first time. 'It takes a person a week to travel from Iran to Yemen, so how could this missile have arrived there? We don't possess such missiles to supply to Yemen,' Pezeshkian questioned.

Nevertheless, last year Iran unveiled what it claimed to be Tehran's inaugural domestically produced hypersonic ballistic missile. State media showcased images of the missile, named 'Fattah,' during a ceremony.
