Iran's newly elected President Masoud Pezeshkian embarked on his inaugural foreign visit, arriving in Iraq on Wednesday. Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani extended a warm welcome to Pezeshkian upon his arrival at Baghdad International Airport, as conveyed by the prime minister's media office.

During his stay in Iraq, Pezeshkian is scheduled to tour the provinces of Najaf, Karbala, Irbil, and Basra, located in both the northern and southern regions of the country. A significant highlight of the Iranian president's visit will be the signing of 15 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) across various sectors. Pezeshkian officially assumed the presidency of Iran in July.
