Iran pledged on Sunday to support armed groups in their efforts to confront Israel following the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in a significant strike on Beirut's southern suburbs on Friday.
Iranian state media cited Iran's parliament speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, who stated that these groups would continue to confront Israel. 'We will not hesitate to go to any level in order to help the resistance,' Qalibaf said. He also issued a warning to the United States, stating, 'The US is complicit in all of these crimes and...has to accept the repercussions.'
In response to Nasrallah's killing, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that Israel 'will not rest' and that the action would not go unanswered, according to state media on Sunday. Araqchi emphasized that the region was in a perilous situation.
Iranian media also reported that Iran Revolutionary Guards' deputy commander Abbas Nilforoushan was killed in the Israeli strikes on Beirut on Friday.
