Actor Ishaan Khatter recently made his debut in the US with The Perfect Couple, a project that also stars Nicole Kidman. In an interview with People, Khatter expressed his enthusiasm about collaborating with such a distinguished group of actors.
"One of the highlights of this show for me was working with some truly remarkable individuals. They are all consummate professionals and incredibly generous and kind," Khatter shared.
Reflecting on his initial encounter with Kidman, who portrays Greer Garrison Winbury in the Netflix murder mystery, Khatter noted, "She was just like any other actor on set. We found some fascinating topics to discuss beyond the storyline of the show."
"She's an amazing person. Her eyes are captivating, and I enjoyed the dynamic we had. This experience was a thrilling introduction to Hollywood, and I feel incredibly fortunate. It's definitely one of the highlights of my early career," he added.
Khatter and the rest of the cast spent four months filming the series in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where they indulged in activities such as whale watching, wine tasting, and exploring local attractions.
In The Perfect Couple, Khatter takes on the role of Shooter Dival, the best man and childhood friend of the groom, despite the character being originally white in Elin Hilderbrand's book. Director Susanne Bier chose Khatter for the role based on his talent, not his ethnicity. "Susanne's vision was very clear, and I wanted her to be my guiding light," Khatter said.
The show, which premiered on September 5, quickly climbed to the top of Netflix's rankings. Khatter already has another project in the works with the platform: The Royals, where he will portray Prince Charming, according to People.
