The Israeli military announced on Sunday that it had successfully intercepted a missile launched from Yemen aimed at the Red Sea resort town of Eilat, following Israeli airstrikes on a port controlled by the Houthis in the country. According to a military statement, 'The projectile did not penetrate Israeli territory. Rocket and missile sirens were activated due to the risk of shrapnel falling.' Israel's aerial defense system has been frequently employed to neutralize Houthi weapons near the coast of Eilat over the past few months. Prior to this, the Houthis in Yemen had declared that they would deliver an 'effective response' to the Israeli airstrikes on the port of Hodeidah.
