Israel has recalled its ambassadors from Ireland and Norway for urgent consultations ahead of the anticipated formal recognition of a Palestinian state by the two governments. Foreign Minister Israel Katz stated, 'Israel will not remain silent on this matter. I have instructed the Israeli ambassadors from Dublin and Oslo to return to Israel for further consultations in Jerusalem.'
Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store of Norway announced that Norway would recognize Palestine as a state as of May 28, despite objections from the Israeli government. Meanwhile, the Irish government is also expected to make a similar announcement, as reported by public broadcaster NRK and daily Aftenposten.
