Gaza's civil defence agency reported on Saturday that an overnight Israeli air strike targeted a house in Gaza City, where displaced Palestinians had sought shelter, resulting in the deaths of 11 individuals, including women and children.

"We have retrieved the bodies of 11 martyrs, comprising four children and three women, following an Israeli warplane attack on a three-storey Bustan family residence," stated Mahmud Bassal, the agency's spokesperson, in an interview with AFP. He noted that the strike occurred around 1am (2am UAE time) and the house was situated near the Shujaiya school in the Al Tuffah district of eastern Gaza City.

Bassal explained that "several families had sought refuge in the house that was struck by a single missile without any prior warning," and many others were injured. Earlier, Bassal had mentioned that rescue teams were still searching for missing persons. The Israeli military did not provide immediate comments on the strike.

Bassal also reported that Israeli forces conducted similar strikes in other areas of the Hamas-controlled territory overnight, resulting in the deaths of at least 10 people. In northwestern Gaza City, five individuals were killed when an air strike hit a group near Dar Al-Arqam school. Additionally, three others were killed in a strike in the Al-Mawasi area of the southern Khan Yunis governorate, where tens of thousands of displaced Palestinians have found refuge, according to Bassal.
