Previously, Israel had informed the United States of its intention to conduct a limited ground operation in Lebanon, which could commence shortly, according to an unnamed U.S. official cited by the Washington Post. This operation is expected to be more modest in scale compared to Israel's 2006 conflict with Hezbollah, with a primary focus on enhancing security for communities along the border, the official added.
