Syrian state media reported an Israeli strike on the countryside of Aleppo and Idlib on Saturday, which resulted in injuries to soldiers and caused damage. According to the official SANA news agency, "At around 12.45am after midnight, the Israeli army launched an air aggression from the direction of southeast Aleppo, targeting a number of sites in the countryside of Aleppo and Idlib." The report further stated that the attack led to "the injury of a number of soldiers and some material losses," though no further details were provided.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based war monitor, reported that the strikes targeted military installations. Additionally, the war monitor noted that members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and pro-Tehran factions were based in the area.

Since the start of the Syrian civil war in 2011, Israel has conducted hundreds of strikes in Syria, primarily targeting army positions and Iran-backed fighters, including those from Hezbollah. The Israeli military has increased its strikes on Syria since launching its war against Hezbollah in neighboring Lebanon. Israeli authorities rarely comment on these strikes but have consistently stated that they will not permit arch-enemy Iran to expand its presence in Syria.
