ITA Airways has announced the suspension of its flights to and from Tel Aviv, citing the geopolitical situation in the Middle East and the need to ensure the safety of passengers and crew. This suspension will remain in effect until August 6, according to a statement posted on the airline's website.
Similarly, Lufthansa Group has decided to cancel all passenger and cargo flights to and from Tel Aviv, effective immediately and continuing until August 8. A spokesperson for the German airline explained that this decision was due to the ongoing developments in the region. Additionally, the group has extended its suspension of flights to and from Beirut until August 12.
Several airlines have either cancelled or suspended flights as tensions rise in Lebanon following a strike in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights that resulted in the deaths of 12 children and teenagers. Hezbollah has denied any responsibility for the incident. Meanwhile, Dubai-based flydubai has adjusted its flight operations to Beirut amidst the escalating conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. The airline will operate two daily flights to Beirut Airport until August 2, and is closely monitoring the situation.
