Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal's brilliant 93 off 53 deliveries steered India to a 10-wicket victory over Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club on Saturday, securing an unbeatable 3-1 lead in the five-match T20 international series.
A young Indian team, without several key players, won the toss and chose to bowl, limiting Zimbabwe to 152 for seven in their 20 overs. India reached their target with 28 balls to spare, marking the second time they have achieved a 10-wicket win in T20s, the previous being against the same team at the same location in 2016.
Zimbabwe's captain, Sikandar Raza, who was born in Pakistan, led the scoring with 46 off 28 balls. The home team had a strong start with 63 for the first wicket between openers Wesley Madhevere (25) and Tadiwanashe Marumani (32). However, Zimbabwe struggled to maintain momentum, losing wickets regularly as they attempted to speed up their innings. Seamer Khaleel Ahmed (2-32) was the standout bowler for the visitors.
The target was never daunting for Jaiswal and captain Shubman Gill (58 off 39 balls), who cruised to victory with a series of impressive shots. The series' fifth and final match will be held at the same venue on Sunday.
