James Gunn's Superman is set to hit theaters in July 2025, but when can we expect the first trailer? The exact date remains uncertain, but writer-director James Gunn, who also serves as co-head of DC Studios, hinted at its potential release window. 'It won't be too long before we see a trailer, but it also won't be too soon,' Gunn mentioned at New York Comic Con, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Previously, Gunn had indicated that the first trailer for Superman would not debut until 2025.

Gunn also provided an update on the film's progress, stating that the team is currently 'deep in the process of editing.' Principal photography concluded in July 2024, but the movie undoubtedly requires extensive CG and other post-production elements before its release. Gunn expressed his excitement about David Corenswet's portrayal of Superman, predicting that Corenswet will 'f**king blow people away.' 'He is the movie star that everyone just dreams he could possibly be. I don't think anyone really understands the depth of this guy's talent dramatically, comedically,' Gunn said.

Gunn further praised Corenswet's physical prowess, calling him the 'best physical action star I've ever probably worked with.' Corenswet, 29, is also recognized for his roles in TV series such as Moe & Jerryweather, The Politician, and We Own This City, as well as films like Pearl and Twisters.

In addition to Corenswet as Superman, the film stars Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Check out the gallery below for everything we know so far about Superman.
