The second edition of the Japan Kyoto Trade Exhibition is set to commence on February 10, 2025, in Dubai, with the primary objective of bolstering trade relations between the UAE and Japan. This initiative aims to stimulate economic growth and foster innovation across the region.

Organized by Maico Enterprises, a prominent Japanese trade firm, the three-day event will feature an extensive array of Japanese industries, ranging from traditional crafts to cutting-edge technologies. This platform will facilitate networking opportunities and drive economic expansion.

“This exhibition stands as the largest B2B event in the region, offering a comprehensive view of Japan’s traditional and innovative industries to a vibrant market,” commented Toshimi Yamazaki, former secretariat of the Minister at the Ministry of Internal Affairs Japan, president and founder of Ringo Inc, and executive advisor of the Japan Trade Exhibition Organizing Committee.

The exhibition coincides with ongoing negotiations between the UAE and Japan regarding the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). This agreement seeks to enhance bilateral trade and propel business growth in the UAE and the broader Middle East region.

On September 18, the UAE and Japan initiated talks to establish a comprehensive economic partnership agreement. This initiative aims to create new avenues for development cooperation, supporting the prosperity and sustainable economic growth of both nations and their populations.

“This marks a significant step in reinforcing cultural and economic bonds between our countries, especially given the recent commencement of talks towards a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. This will pave the way for new collaborative opportunities and support sustainable economic growth for both nations,” Yamazaki added.

“In February 2025, we will assemble exhibitors from various sectors across Japan, including food, beauty, architecture, and space technology. This event is not merely a business networking opportunity but also a tribute to Japan’s rich industrial and cultural diversity,” stated Mai Sakaue, executive committee chairperson of the Japan Trade Exhibition and CEO of Maico Enterprises.

The inaugural edition attracted 95 exhibitors and approximately 12,000 visitors. “For 2025, our goal is to host 150 exhibitors and welcome up to 30,000 visitors, comprising business leaders and the general public interested in Japan’s heritage, innovations, and business prospects,” noted Rina Fujihashi, a member of the organizing committee.

With an expected turnout of over 30,000 trade and public visitors, the exhibition is poised to be the largest Japanese business networking event in the Middle East, promoting collaboration and cultural exchange between Japan and the MENA region.
