Jennifer Lopez admits that being a single parent has sometimes made her wonder if she is 'enough' for her twins, Max and Emme. At 55, J.Lo opened up about raising her 16-year-old children while promoting her new film, 'Unstoppable,' a sports drama inspired by the true story of wrestler Anthony Robles, who, despite being born with one leg, made history by winning the 2011 NCAA individual national championship. Lopez portrays his mother, Judy Robles, in the movie.
"I've been a single mom at times in my life, and [I've asked,] 'Am I enough for them?'" she shared with Entertainment Weekly. "And the truth is, all you need is really one good parent to love you."
Lopez further commented on Robles' achievements, saying, "You hear it in Anthony's voice, and look what he's been able to accomplish. That's what the movie gave me: You are enough."
Robles' real mother, Judy, commended Lopez's performance, stating, "She was able to really take on how I felt — the highs and the lows. We long to be loved, and we want something impossible to work out. And even when we see it and we're like, 'But I've got to keep pushing' — there's always a little bit of hope."
Lopez and her ex-husband Marc Anthony, 56, welcomed twins Max and Emme in 2008. The couple, who married in 2004, separated in 2012, with their divorce finalized in 2014. Recently, Lopez has been focusing on spending quality time with her children. She canceled her 'This Is Me… Live' tour in May to spend the summer with Max and Emme, a decision she described as the best thing she's ever done.
Lopez, who is currently in the midst of a divorce from Ben Affleck, 52, also spent time this summer with Affleck's three children — Violet, 19; Seraphina, 15; and Samuel, 12 — whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, 52. In May, Lopez attended Violet's high school graduation party with Affleck, despite their separation in April. Although they spent the summer apart, Violet visited Lopez in the Hamptons in July.
In August, Lopez was seen shopping with her stepson Samuel in LA ahead of Affleck's birthday. In September, J.Lo and Affleck gathered their blended family for brunch at The Beverly Hills Hotel, excluding Violet, who had already begun her freshman year at Yale.
