Jennifer Love Hewitt is taking a trip down memory lane this holiday season, reflecting on her extensive acting career with Fox News Digital. The star of 'The Holiday Junkie' shared her thoughts on her memorable cameo in 'Boy Meets World,' where she shared a passionate scene with actor Will Friedle.
'It was so fun... I adored Will. He was like the best boyfriend ever. He was so sweet. And that cast was wonderful,' Hewitt said, recalling her time on the show. Friedle, who played Cory's brother on 'Boy Meets World,' and Hewitt were dating in real life during her appearance in the season 5 episode, 'And Then There Was Shawn.'
Hewitt, who played Jennifer Love 'Feffy' Fefferman in the 1998 episode, admitted she was nervous about her guest role. 'I was very nervous because... it was a comedy, and I hadn't really guested on a lot of stuff... I wanted to make him proud. I wanted to, like, not be fired and to do a good job,' she explained. The make-out scene, which Friedle described as 'intense' and 'uncomfortable' on the 'Pod Meets World' podcast, left a lasting impression on fans.
While discussing the scene with Fox News Digital, Hewitt expressed concern about how her daughters might react to it. 'We really went for it in that make out, definitely,' she said. 'My daughter watches 'Girl Meets World' right now, and I'm always afraid that she's going to want to watch 'Boy Meets World'... then see me as Jennifer Love Fefferman making out on the bookshelf, and she's going to be like 'mommy, this is cringe.'
In addition to her past roles, Hewitt is also making waves with her new Lifetime movie, 'The Holiday Junkie,' which she directed. The film, centered around her character Andie running a holiday decorating and planning service, holds a special place in her heart as it honors her late mother. Hewitt's on-screen romance is played by her real-life husband, Brian Hallisay, with whom she shares three children.
Working with her husband on set presented its own challenges. 'For us, our biggest challenge was who's going to watch our kids because we're in everything. So, we really panicked about that,' Hewitt said. Despite the challenges, she expressed gratitude for their 11 years of marriage and the opportunity to fall in love with her husband all over again on set.
Hewitt's career spans decades, from her iconic role in 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' to her current projects. She shared that her 11-year-old daughter recently received her Screen Actors Guild card, the same age Hewitt was when she got hers. Her children have also shown interest in her work, with humorous reactions to her horror film roles.
As she looks back on her career, Hewitt offered advice to her younger self. 'I was always a worrywart,' she said. 'I was just always worried... I definitely enjoyed it and was present... had a good time and all those things. But I wasted a lot of time worrying. And I think I would just say to her like, 'Look, it's going to work out. You're going to start getting old, and they're still going to let you do things... it's okay. You're fine.'
'The Holiday Junkie' premieres on Lifetime on December 14.
