Jeremy Allen White is undoubtedly one of the most versatile actors in the industry today. He's navigated the intense world of The Bear, portrayed the complex character of professional wrestler Kerry Von Erich in Sean Durkin's The Iron Claw, and is set to take on the role of a Boss in the upcoming Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me. And now, according to THR, White is venturing into a new realm—the Star Wars universe. The sought-after New Yorker will be lending his voice to a pivotal role in Jon Favreau's recently completed Mandoverse film, The Mandalorian & Grogu.

As reported by the trade, White will voice Rotta the Hutt, the son of the infamous gangster Jabba. This new Star Wars spin-off will feature Pedro Pascal reprising his role as the titular bounty hunter from The Mandalorian, continuing his space adventures with his adoptive son Grogu. White is the second new addition to the cast, following Sigourney Weaver's casting in May. While details about Weaver's character and the film's plot remain under wraps, we have encountered White's character, Rotta, before.

Rotta the Hutt first appeared in The Clone Wars movie in 2008 and made a brief appearance in the Clone Wars TV series. He was used as a pawn in the conflict between the Separatists and the Republic, with the former kidnapping him to frame the latter. The plot backfired, and Rotta has been conspicuously absent from the Star Wars universe since, despite being the obvious heir to his father's criminal empire. Will Rotta become an ally to Mando and Grogu? Does he have unresolved issues with his father's associates and adversaries? And what has he been doing all these years?

We'll uncover at least some of these mysteries when The Mandalorian & Grogu hits theaters on May 22, 2026. This is the way!
