Actor Jeremy Allen White from 'The Bear' discussed his preparation for the role of Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming biopic 'Deliver Me From Nowhere,' produced by 20th Century and Disney. Filming for the movie commenced earlier this spring, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
White expressed his gratitude to GQ, stating, "I'm fortunate to have a dedicated team assisting young actors like myself to embody rock legends. I'm working with a skilled group to prepare vocally and musically for this role."
In recent cinematic portrayals, Austin Butler starred as Elvis, Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury, Naomi Ackie as Whitney Houston, and Kingsley Ben-Adir as Bob Marley. Upcoming projects include Timothee Chalamet as Bob Dylan and Jafaar Jackson as his uncle, Michael Jackson. White has recently been cast in 'Deliver Me From Nowhere.'
The actor mentioned that Springsteen himself is "very supportive of the project," granting White access and describing him as "the greatest guy."
'Deliver Me From Nowhere' delves into the creation of Springsteen's 1982 album 'Nebraska,' following the success of 'The River.' The album, known for its blue-collar essence and stark themes, features minimal instrumentation. Scott Cooper, the director, revealed in April that the album "had a profound impact on me and my work," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
White shared his research methods, including extensive viewing of Springsteen's life stages on YouTube. He emphasized the enjoyment he found in listening and watching Springsteen to prepare for the role.
Cooper reflected on Springsteen's legacy, stating, "Through themes of despair and disillusionment, Bruce has created a unique legacy, capturing the essence of the human condition. Despite the darkness, his music conveys resilience and hope, embodying an indomitable spirit. This is the Bruce I know and love, and I aim to honor him through this film." The release date for the movie has not yet been announced, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
