Johannes Veerman clinched his second DP World Tour title with a thrilling one-shot victory at the 2025 Nedbank Golf Challenge, finishing with a remarkable final-round 69.

Veerman, who once dreamt of becoming a doctor but found his passion on the golf course, delivered an outstanding performance to win the $6 million event at the prestigious Gary Player Country Club in Sun City. The 32-year-old Californian, who had endured a challenging two-year drought, secured a dramatic one-shot win over local favorite Aldrich Potgieter, describing the victory as 'indescribable.'

This triumph marked Veerman's second DP World Tour title, following his 2021 Real Czech Masters win. It earned him a $1,025,000 cheque and propelled him to the top of the 2024-25 Race to Dubai Rankings.

In the final round, Veerman shot an impressive 69, sealing his victory in a nail-biting showdown. He started the day five strokes off the lead but carded six birdies and three bogeys in tough conditions to set a five-under-par clubhouse target for the final groups.

The victory was sealed with a bogey on the last hole, denying South African Aldrich Potgieter the chance to face Veerman in a playoff. Potgieter had looked set for a memorable home win but surrendered a triple bogey at the par-three 12th, handing Veerman the lead.

This second career victory, following his 2021 D+D Real Czech Masters win, takes Veerman to the top of the 2024-25 Race to Dubai and earns him a cheque for $1,025,000. Veerman is set to relocate to Dubai with his family in January 2025.

Other notable performances from Dubai and UAE-connected players included Thorbjorn Oleson (Den) finishing 5th alone on 3 under, Julien Guerrier (Fr) tied 6th on 2 under, and Adrian Otaegui (UAE) tied 24th on +3.
