John Krasinski's life took an unexpected turn when Emily Blunt discovered he had been named People's Sexiest Man Alive. The 45-year-old 'Office' alum joked that his wife was 'very excited' about the news and wasn't planning to let it go anytime soon. 'I think it's going to make me do more household chores,' Krasinski told People in his cover story. 'After this comes out, she'll be like, 'All right, that means you're going to really earn it here at home.''

Blunt, 41, even had a quirky home décor idea in mind: wallpapering their home with his new cover picture. 'Do we have that on camera? Because that's like a binding contract, I think,' Krasinski quipped, referring to their daughters Hazel, 10, and Violet, 8. 'My children will love that, it won't be weird at all.'

The 'Quiet Place' director added that 'there was a lot of joy' in sharing the news with his partner of 14 years. 'It's that beautiful thing where when you're married to someone, you're constantly learning and changing and evolving,' said Krasinski of their relationship. 'And I'm so lucky to go through all that with her.'

As for how the 'Jack Ryan' star—who took People's Sexiest Man title over for 2023 winner Patrick Dempsey—felt about adding another title to his resume? 'Just immediate blackout, actually. Zero thoughts,' Krasinski admitted. 'Other than maybe I'm being punked. That's not how I wake up, thinking, 'Is this the day that I'll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?' And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me.'

Krasinski and Blunt tied the knot in 2010 and have been vocal about their relationship over the years. In 2011, Krasinski confessed on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' that he 'wasn't really looking for a relationship' when he first moved to Los Angeles, but Blunt quickly changed his outlook. 'Then I met her and I was so nervous. I was like, 'Oh god, I think I'm going to fall in love with her,' he shared, adding that their instant chemistry was undeniable. 'It's one of those things where as soon as you meet someone you kind of know.'

Blunt shared a glimpse into her marriage with Krasinski to InStyle in 2013. 'Meeting John really changed my life,' the actress said. 'When I feel the support that I have from him, I feel invincible. There's someone behind you on your good days and someone in front of you on your bad days.'

In August 2015, Krasinski told People about being Blunt's 'No. 1 fan.' 'It's really that we just got lucky,' he said of their romance. 'It's one of those things, I'm having more fun now than the day I met her, and it's pretty wild.' 'I think when you commit your life to anything like that it changes everything. All of the cliches are true,' added the star.
