Jonas Eidevall has stepped down as the head coach of Arsenal's Women’s Super League team, the club has confirmed.
The Swedish coach, who took charge in 2021, secured two League Cup victories during his tenure. However, he faced significant pressure after a crushing defeat to Bayern Munich in the Women’s Champions League last Wednesday and a subsequent loss to Chelsea in the WSL on Saturday. Prior to these setbacks, Arsenal had managed a draw against Everton in their previous WSL home game.
Arsenal announced, “We can confirm that Jonas Eidevall has resigned from his position as head coach of our women’s first team and leaves us with immediate effect.”
