Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good have announced their engagement at the EBONY Power 100 Gala in Los Angeles on Sunday night. Good, 43, proudly displayed her engagement ring while posing for photos with Majors, 35. "We're feeling great," Good shared with People at the event. "It's a season of joy," Majors added, with Good echoing, "It's a season of all the good things." The couple revealed to E! News that they chose the gala to announce their engagement as it was the place where they first met two years ago. "EBONY Power 100 is the event that we met at in the bathrooms, in the unisex bathroom," Good reminisced.
Majors and Good officially became a couple in May 2023. Prior to this, Good was married to pastor DeVon Franklin from 2012 until their separation in December 2021, with their divorce finalized in June 2022. Good stood by Majors' side during his trial for assault and harassment, which led to his dismissal from Marvel's Kang the Conqueror role. Majors was arrested on March 25, 2023, following a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, in a Brooklyn taxi. Majors maintained his innocence, claiming Jabbari was the aggressor. After a two-week trial, Majors was convicted in December 2023.
In April, Majors was sentenced to a 52-week in-person domestic violence intervention program, with the possibility of a six-month jail term if he fails to complete it. Good remained steadfastly loyal to Majors throughout his trial. On "Today with Hoda and Jenna" last summer, Good defended her relationship with the "Creed III" actor, stating, "At the end of the day, one thing I know is I can always look at myself in the mirror when I trust my spirit, when I trust God, when I ask God, and when I move to the beat of my own drum." She also noted that while she considers the opinions and advice of those she loves, she ultimately has to "live my life."
Following his conviction, Majors was dropped by Marvel, Entertainment 360, and the Lede Company, and lost his role in the upcoming film "The Man in My Basement." Majors had previously portrayed Kang in "Ant-Man 3" and "Loki," and was set to appear in "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty" in 2026 and "Avengers: Secret Wars" in 2027 before being replaced by Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. In July, Majors expressed his "heartbreak" over Marvel's decision to TMZ.
