A judge has decided to delay a decision on whether to overturn President-elect Donald Trump's conviction in his hush money case due to a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity.

New York Judge Juan M. Merchan was originally scheduled to rule on Tuesday. However, he informed Trump's legal team on the same day that he would postpone the ruling until November 19.

According to emails submitted in court, Trump's lawyers requested the delay over the weekend, citing "strong reasons for the requested stay, and eventually dismissal of the case in the interests of justice."
