Despite the untimely passing of rapper Jarad Anthony Higgins, better known as Juice WRLD, in 2019, he will be a featured performer at the Fortnite Remix Finale Event this weekend. Players can log into Fortnite this week and receive a free cel-shaded Juice WRLD skin upon their next return to the game. Alongside this in-game outfit and the finale event, the late artist will also have his own Fortnite island created via Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). Collaborating on this project are Interscope Records, the Juice WRLD estate, and other stakeholders, all in conjunction with the rapper's final posthumous release, 'The Party Never Ends'.
The island's design centers around a platform that propels players on a race to the top of a tower. For those needing a break before the ascent, an Xbox lounge is available where they can listen to some of Juice WRLD's previously unreleased music. Additionally, the island will feature various Juice WRLD-themed collectibles and music. Juice WRLD was a dedicated Xbox enthusiast, and in his honor, Xbox Design Lab has created two new controllers adorned with imagery inspired by the late rapper. These controllers, however, are not endorsed or produced by Epic.
'The Party Never Ends' is set for release on Friday, November 29, with Juice WRLD Island launching the following day. Furthermore, Xbox will host a Fortnite tournament on November 30 at the United Center in Chicago, featuring Juice WRLD Island, guest performers, and a tribute to the rapper's life. Following the Fortnite Finale event, Fortnite OG will return permanently in December. Godzilla is also slated to appear in Fortnite during Chapter 6 next month. Before that, players will have the opportunity to vote for this year's Game Awards directly from within Fortnite.
