K-pop artist Taeil has been removed from the renowned Neo Culture Technology (NCT) group, as per BCC reports, following allegations of an 'unspecified sexual crime'. SM Entertainment, Taeil's management company, issued a formal announcement on X, previously known as Twitter, stating that he will no longer be associated with the boy band due to his involvement in a criminal case concerning a sexual crime. The specifics of the incident remain undisclosed, but the agency emphasized its acknowledgment of the gravity of the matter and consequently excluded him from the band's future activities. The 30-year-old, whose full name is Moon Tae-il, has yet to address the accusations. Nevertheless, SM Entertainment confirmed that he is working with law enforcement, according to BBC. In the meantime, South Korean media outlets have reported that The Bangbae Police Station in Seoul is handling the investigation. NCT, which launched in 2016, consists of over a dozen members spread across various sub-units like NCT 127, NCT Dream, and NCT Wish. Taeil was notably active in NCT 127, as reported by BBC. K-pop, a global phenomenon rooted in South Korea, blends elements of pop, R&B, and hip-hop.
