Actor Katherine Renee Kane is reportedly set to depart from the cast of FBI following her appearance in at least one episode of the show's seventh season, as reported by Variety. FBI, an American police procedural television series, was created by Dick Wolf and Craig Turk and made its debut on CBS on September 25, 2018.
Kane portrays special agent Tiffany Wallace, characterized as 'smart and outspoken,' and serves as the partner of special agent Stuart Scola, played by John Boyd. Prior to joining the FBI, she had a six-year tenure with the New York Police Department, according to Variety. She entered the series in 2020 during its third season, succeeding Ebonee Noel, who had previously played special agent and intelligence analyst Kristen Chazal. Kane's departure coincides with the introduction of Lisette Olivera as Syd, a behavioural analysis unit agent, in Season 7.
The FBI series focuses on the investigative work of a team of special agents based in the bureau's New York City office. The cast includes Boyd and Olivera, alongside Missy Peregrym as Maggie Bell, Zeeko Zaki as Omar Adom 'OA' Zidan, Alana De La Garza as Isobel Castille, and Jeremy Sisto as Jubal Valentine. Launched in 2018, the series serves as the cornerstone of the FBI franchise, which expanded with the debuts of FBI: Most Wanted in 2020 and FBI: International in 2021. CBS recently renewed all three series, with FBI receiving a three-season extension; new episodes are slated to premiere on CBS starting October 15.
