Kevin Costner celebrated the holiday season by sharing a heartwarming photo of his family. On Monday, the 69-year-old actor posted recent images of himself with six of his seven children. In the first picture, Costner smiles on a beach alongside his daughters Annie, 40, Lily, 38, and Grace, 14. His sons Joe, 36, Cayden, 17, and Hayes, 15, are also featured in the beach shot. The 'Yellowstone' star stands in the center as his children hug each other while posing.
"Hoping you guys had a wonderful Thanksgiving with the people you love most," Costner captioned the Instagram post. "At the top of my 'grateful for' list are the many really, really special memories I've gotten to make with my kids this year." He added, "Here's to a holiday season dedicated to making more."
Other images in the carousel include a black-and-white photo of Costner and Cayden laughing together on a bed. A short video clip also shows the two-time Oscar winner posing with his children at the Los Angeles premiere of 'Horizon: An American Saga — Chapter 1.' He was joined by Annie, Joe, Cayden, Hayes, and Grace. The heartwarming collection concludes with a black-and-white photo of Costner, Annie, Lily, Grace, Cayden, and Hayes at an event, where Annie wraps her arms around Hayes while their siblings stand beside them and their dad.
Costner did not include images of his son Liam, 28, in the post. He shares Annie, Lily, and Joe with his first wife Cindy Silva, and Liam with his former partner Bridget Rooney. His youngest children — Cayden, Hayes, and Grace — are with his ex-wife Christine Baumgartner. The couple finalized their divorce in February.
A representative for Costner told People in September that the pair "have come to an amicable and mutually agreed upon resolution of all issues pertaining to their divorce proceedings," following initial reports of their settlement. Baumgartner filed for divorce on May 1, 2023, after 18 years of marriage, listing her date of separation from Costner as April 11.
Although Costner shared a series of pictures with his real-life family, he was noticeably absent from his former television family's Thanksgiving festivities. The 'Yellowstone' cast had a mini-reunion over the holiday, with the show's still photographer, Emerson Miller, sharing a photo of several cast and crew members. "Gente, 'Merry' Thanksgiving. From my familia to yours. With so much love," Miller captioned the group photo.
Costner, who played John Dutton, did not participate in the holiday with his former co-stars after leaving the show in Part 1 of Season 5 in 2022. His patriarch character was killed off in the first episode of Season 5B, following his confirmed departure in June. Costner shared his thoughts on the fan backlash to John Dutton's fate, stating that he had pitched the character's death to Sheridan "a while back" but had no stake in what happens now.
