Hollywood actor Kieran Culkin revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that he was uncertain about continuing his acting career until midway through the first season of Succession. At the Tribeca Festival, Culkin and Jesse Eisenberg engaged in a discussion about their extensive careers in the entertainment industry, their latest film, A Real Pain, and various other subjects. When questioned about considering other professions, Culkin mentioned a recent conversation with Emily Gerson Saines. He recounted, 'At around 20, I had a call with Emily where she mentioned my career, which triggered a panic [attack] as I realized I had never consciously chosen acting.' This crisis at 19 or 20, he noted, is somewhat typical. Culkin took a break from acting to explore his desires, eventually embracing acting as his career and feeling comfortable on the set of 2017's Infinity Baby. It was only halfway through Succession's first season, during a conversation with his wife, that he realized, 'I want to be an actor.' Culkin has been acting for about 31 years, spending decades trying to decide on another path before returning to acting. The Hollywood Reporter also noted that Culkin won an Emmy for his role as Roman Roy in the final season of Succession.
