Britain's King Charles III addressed a Parliamentary reception at Parliament House in Canberra on Monday, as reported by AFP.
During his visit to the Australian parliament, Indigenous senator Lidia Thorpe interrupted the 75-year-old king's speech with anti-colonial chants. After King Charles had finished his remarks to lawmakers and other dignitaries, Thorpe shouted, "Give us our land back!" The independent lawmaker vehemently criticized what she described as the genocide of Indigenous Australians by European settlers.
