The Kremlin stated on Wednesday that Donald Trump's presidency from 2017 to 2021 did not yield any beneficial outcomes for Russia. However, it acknowledged that there was at least a continuous exchange between Moscow and Washington, which might be viewed as a positive aspect in itself.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov addressed this during a media briefing when queried about Trump's previous comments on his interactions with President Vladimir Putin. Peskov remarked, "Regarding whether Putin and Trump got along or not, during Trump's tenure, no advantageous steps were taken for Russia. Instead, more constraints were placed on Russia. Nonetheless, communication did exist, which can likely be seen as a positive factor."
Peskov also noted that discussions about Russia and Putin are customary topics in US election campaigns.
