Kuwait has refuted recent rumours and accusations alleging that a Jordanian woman was assaulted within the country's deportation prison (temporary detention centre). The General Department of Security Relations and Media stated that the authorities conducted a comprehensive investigation into the matter and determined the allegations to be unfounded.

According to the department's announcement, the incident was examined with transparency under the oversight of senior officials, including the Director General of the General Administration of Correctional Institutions and a representative from the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The woman was directly questioned regarding the assault claims. She denied the allegations and affirmed that all procedures and interactions were conducted lawfully and respectfully. The statement also confirmed that the woman was in good health.

The General Department of Security Relations and Media emphasized that Kuwait's security institutions are fully dedicated to respecting human rights in all their operations and procedures. The government also reserves the right to take legal action against anyone spreading false information or rumours.
