The growing popularity of cycling in the Mena region, exemplified by leading teams like UAE Team Emirates and Team Bahrain Victorious, has laid the groundwork for L’Etape Dubai by Tour de France. Participants will relish an unparalleled cycling journey, traversing some of Dubai’s most iconic sites, including Burj Khalifa, Meydan Club, and the Museum of the Future.
Organized by BE COOL and Peloton Events, with robust support from the Dubai Sports Council, this event is committed to delivering a top-tier experience, highlighting Dubai’s remarkable ability to host major international sports competitions. This initiative not only capitalizes on Dubai’s advanced infrastructure and hospitality but also elevates the city as a leading hub for sports tourism, fostering a healthier lifestyle among its inhabitants and guests.
The race commences at the Meydan Hotel and features four distinct routes. The initial route spans 110 kilometers, followed by a 60-kilometer route. There is also a non-competitive route of 20 kilometers for participants aged 11 and over, along with a children's race for ages 3 to 14, extending 3 kilometers. The race will navigate through prominent Dubai landmarks such as the Burj Khalifa, the Museum of the Future, and Dubai Frame, providing a unique and thrilling cycling adventure.
Further details about the route will be disclosed later. The events are scheduled over two days: Saturday, February 1, 2025, will focus on family activities, and Sunday, February 2, 2025, will host the main races, including The Race (110 km) and The Ride (60 km).
