Joker: Folie à Deux is set to hit theaters in just over a week, but one of its leading actors is already ramping up the final promotional efforts. Lady Gaga, who plays Harley Quinn, is releasing a concept album focused on her character on Friday, September 27. Gaga announced the news through her X account, revealing that the album is titled Harlequin. The milk carton image on the right showcases the complete 13-song track list of Harlequin. The album is now available for pre-order at various outlets.
Similar to the first Joker film, the sequel deviates from the comic book narrative of the relationship between Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) and Harleen 'Lee' Quinzel (Gaga). Instead of Lee being Joker's psychiatrist at Arkham State Hospital, she is a fellow patient who falls for Joker after he is put on trial for his actions in the previous movie. The trailers hint at several shared fantasy sequences and musical numbers between Arthur and Lee.
Additionally, the previews have unveiled that Harvey Dent (Harry Lawtey), another future Batman villain, is the ambitious district attorney aiming to make a name for himself by prosecuting Arthur. Meanwhile, Joker's expanding group of followers are determined to see him freed, potentially resorting to drastic measures to achieve this.
Joker: Folie à Deux is scheduled to premiere in theaters on October 4.
