A fresh corporate golf venture, the Executive Golf League, has been introduced for the 2024-2025 season in the UAE. This initiative features eight corporate teams, each with four players inclusive of both genders, competing in eight rounds starting from September 2024. Team members can be swapped in each round, provided they are affiliated with the company.
Paul Stubbs, the Executive Golf League's Tournament Director, expressed at the launch, "We've been observing the golf scene in the UAE and aim to foster a new environment that encourages camaraderie, networking, and fair play. We see a niche in corporate golf leagues and are optimistic about the league's reception and its invigorating impact." He also acknowledged The Els Club, Dubai for their collaboration.
The competition format pairs each four-player team into two-balls, facing off against another corporate team in various formats like Betterball Medal and Stableford. An Order of Merit system rewards two points for a win, one for a draw, and a bonus for the highest combined team score, capping at five points per event.
Stubbs further explained, "Each team will engage in nine matches, with the top three advancing to the Grand Prize round. We've seen significant interest and will accept entries on a first-come, first-served basis. We aim to elevate UAE corporate golf's value and appreciate all partners' support." He also mentioned that each team will have a branded event day, featuring corporate profiles and various offerings.
