Lebanese Health Minister Firass Abiad announced that the death toll from Israeli strikes on Monday had climbed to 274, marking the highest daily count in nearly a year of cross-border skirmishes. Among the fatalities were 21 children and 39 women, according to Abiad's statement to the press. He further noted that "thousands of families from the affected areas have been displaced." Additionally, two rescue workers were killed, and 16 emergency responders were injured. Abiad also reported that "two ambulances, a fire truck, and a medical center were targeted." The strikes resulted in 1,024 people being treated in 27 hospitals. Abiad highlighted that approximately 5,000 individuals had been wounded in less than a week of Israeli attacks, following incidents involving Hezbollah pagers and walkie-talkies, as well as an Israeli strike on Beirut's southern suburbs. This figure represents about half of the total wounded count of "10,000 to 11,000" over nearly a year of cross-border clashes between the Iran-backed Hezbollah group and Israel, which intensified after the Gaza war.
