This week, the Lego Atari 2600 is available at a discounted price of $160 on both Amazon and Target. Originally priced at $240, this 2,532-piece Lego set is often out of stock at major retailers, so it's possible that both stores might run out before the promotion ends. The Atari 2600 is part of over 60 Lego sets that are at least 20% off at Target this week. Among the three Lego sets commemorating retro video game hardware, the Atari 2600 is the most affordable. The Lego Nintendo Entertainment System and Pac-Man Arcade kits rarely drop from their $270 price tags. Currently, Target offers a slight discount on the Lego NES, while Amazon has already sold out at the same price. This set is ideal for experienced builders. Once completed, you'll have a replica console with functional switches, a Lego-built Atari joystick that mimics the original controller, and several displayable cartridges. It's important to note that the console only resembles an Atari in appearance, but it also includes a hidden gaming room reminiscent of the '80s, complete with a retro landline phone, TV, posters, and a boom box. The buildable cartridges are based on real games such as Asteroids, Centipede, and Adventure. These cartridges can be stored in a case and transformed into mini 3D vignettes of the games. Lastly, the console features a switch to toggle between color and black-and-white television sets.
In other Lego news, the first Legend of Zelda Lego set was released earlier this month. On October 1, Lego will unveil its latest Super Mario display kit: a pixel art model of Mario and Yoshi from Super Mario World.
