Lego Fortnite is making significant strides this week. Not only is a new Lego Pass being introduced, packed with fresh content for the existing Lego Fortnite survival/crafting game, but an entirely new Lego game is also on the horizon, titled Brick Life.
Lego Fortnite Brick Life, set to launch on December 12, is an open-world social simulation where you and 31 friends can explore Brick Bay, a vibrant Lego City filled with activities, jobs, and vacant lots ready for construction. Brick Bay will continually expand, with the Rooftop Club, a sophisticated social space offering panoramic city views, opening on December 18.
The launch of Brick Life coincides with the introduction of text chat across all Fortnite experiences, crucial for a social sim like this. Unlike a mere Creative Lego island, Epic is treating Brick Life as a full-fledged new game, on par with the existing Lego Fortnite survival game. Consequently, the original Lego Fortnite game is being rebranded as Lego Fortnite Odyssey, with 'Lego Fortnite' now encompassing all related content.
Lego Fortnite Odyssey is also receiving a substantial update this week, introducing a new villain, the Storm King, and a faction opposing him, the Storm Chasers. This new questline will spawn destructive storms across the map, requiring players to navigate perilous Storm Dungeons to quell them and advance in their mission to defeat the Storm King.
Accompanying this new content is an all-new Lego Pass, featuring the Raven Team Syd skin, which unlocks upon purchasing the pass. Access to the Lego Pass, along with the Music Pass and OG Pass, is now included with Fortnite Crew. Subscribing to Crew during the active Lego Pass period will instantly grant you the Raven Team Syd skin.
Additionally, Lego Fortnite is offering completely free skins. Linking your Lego and Epic accounts will earn you the Mr. Dappermint skin—a giant candy cane available in the shop each December—and the Explorer Emilie skin, obtainable since last year. Playing Fortnite on mobile and earning any XP before February 21 will reward you with the Chord Kahele skin, the first Festival default skin equippable as a standalone skin, also available in a Lego style.
Brick Life is one of Fortnite's major new modes in Chapter 6, alongside the new OG mode and the first-person Ballistic mode. It appears Fortnite has plenty to keep players engaged throughout the holiday season.
