Ruben Amorim has disclosed that the "special talent" Leny Yoro might make his Manchester United debut against Arsenal on Wednesday evening. The teenage center-back has not played for United since fracturing his foot during preseason after his £52m transfer from Lille. Ironically, the 19-year-old sustained the injury in a friendly against Arsenal during a tour in America, just nine days after joining the club.

"I believe now is the right time," Amorim stated. "I think he's a special talent, and we need to be cautious in this initial phase, as we haven't had many training sessions together. He is training, not alone, but with a small group of players. He is incredibly fast, a modern defender, which is beneficial when you want to press high and leave strikers in one-on-one situations. I believe he can handle that. I think he is very good with the ball. I am genuinely excited. We must be careful, managing the loads and minutes at the start, but I am really looking forward to seeing Leny Yoro play."

Amorim remains undefeated in his first three games as United's manager, but they haven't won at the Emirates Stadium since January 2019. The new head coach has urged his players to be "brave" against the team that is six points ahead of them in the league.

Despite the positive atmosphere since his arrival, the Portuguese coach has one grievance. "I don't like my chant," Amorim said. "I don't like it. As the coach, they should chant for the players and the club. It's not ideal for me. I understand and truly appreciate the connection with the supporters, but I want them to support the team and the players because they are on the pitch, and I'm outside it. However, I am truly honored by that, and I feel a connection with the supporters, but we know we need results to sustain that."
