A 30-year-old man's life was spared following a severe injury sustained in a significant car accident in Abu Dhabi. The patient was promptly transported to Madinat Zayed Hospital post the harrowing event, where medical professionals fought for nine hours to preserve his life due to a critical head trauma. The surgery, commencing at 10:30 PM, extended until 7:30 AM the subsequent day, during which a skilled team administered anesthetic support. Initially, he was admitted to the ICU, under the supervision of Dr. Mostafa ElShahat, an emergency medicine expert, who focused on stabilizing his oxygen levels and restoring normal breathing. This process also necessitated maintaining a steady blood pressure and circulation. Subsequently, he was transferred to the operating room where a neurosurgery team, headed by Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud Khanchour, a specialist physician, initiated the procedure. The operation involved extracting the frontal bone to shield the brain from debris resulting from the collision. Post-surgery, he received maxillofacial surgery to mend fractures around his eyes, particularly the forehead and cheekbones. This surgery, conducted under the guidance of Dr. Zakaria Ahmad Mohamed, a Specialist Physician, was crucial to avert potential issues such as nerve damage, infections, or lasting facial disfigurement.
