Light rains were observed in certain parts of the UAE on Monday, September 30. Videos shared by Storm Centre depict heavy drizzles and light rains along the eastern coast of the country on the same day. Earlier, scattered rains had also affected various regions, as the weather department had forecasted rain for some internal and southern areas of the UAE.
An orange alert for the formation of convective clouds associated with rainfall was issued by the meteorological department, remaining in effect until 9pm. These winds may cause dust and sand to blow, potentially reducing horizontal visibility to less than 3000 metres in some eastern and northern areas.
On Sunday, residents in Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain, and Ras Al Khaimah encountered rains and light drizzles. Additionally, small hail was reported on Sharjah's Al Dhaid Road. The National Centre of Meteorology issued both orange and yellow alerts for these northern emirates.
The rainy conditions experienced across various parts of the UAE followed the weather department's prediction of rainfall extending until September 30. These scattered rainy conditions are expected as the country transitions to cooler temperatures, with the autumn equinox on September 22 marking the end of the UAE's summer.
