Argentina's star player, Lionel Messi, resumed training on Monday in preparation for the upcoming Copa America quarter-final match against Ecuador, scheduled to take place in Houston this week.

Messi had been sidelined from training since suffering a groin/thigh injury in Argentina's 1-0 victory over Chile on June 25. Consequently, he missed Argentina's subsequent 2-0 win against Peru on Saturday.

The Argentine football federation reported that the 37-year-old engaged in some kinesiology exercises prior to joining the training session and integrated with the team thereafter. Argentina is set to confront Ecuador on Thursday.
