“Loki” star Jack Veal is appealing to fans for assistance after disclosing that he is currently homeless. The 17-year-old British actor, known for his role as Kid Loki in the Marvel TV series, posted a TikTok on Monday, stating that he escaped an abusive home environment and is now residing in a trailer in London.
“Hi. I’m a famous actor, I’m 17, and I’m homeless,” Veal began the video. “You might recognize me from Loki, The End of the F***ing World, or various other films where I had significant roles. I haven’t spoken much about my personal life, but I believe it’s time to share the truth.”
“Without going into too many specifics, I endured abuse at home,” Veal continued. “It involved physical violence and emotional mistreatment. My upbringing was not ideal. I’ve grappled with mental health issues. I have autism, ADHD, and am undergoing evaluations for bipolar disorder and psychosis.”
The teenager explained that he cannot stay with his grandparents because his grandfather is terminally ill. “I have nowhere else to turn. And I desperately need help,” he said, adding that he informed social services about his situation but they allegedly “refuse to assist” him.
“I’m in a dire situation. I’ve been sleeping on the streets. Currently, I’m sleeping in a trailer with broken windows, which is unsafe and located two hours away from my job,” Veal detailed. “This makes it challenging to get to work daily. Life is tough. Right now, I have nothing else.”
Veal pleaded, “I’m on my knees begging you all to share this, do something, spread the word about how the government is treating children.” He showcased his cramped living conditions in the trailer, including the broken windows he covered with a single sheet of paper.
Veal disclosed that he lacks electricity, so he relies on a small portable charger for his phone. He also has a few snacks inside the trailer. “I need help,” Veal reiterated. “Please share this, spread it as far as you can. You don’t need to give me anything, I don’t require anything. I just need this to go viral.”
Veal’s video has garnered over 150,000 views with hundreds of comments. “This is heartbreaking, no one deserves this,” one person commented. “I’m so sorry Jack, I hope things improve for you,” another fan wrote.
Others commented on Veal’s TikTok to ensure it appears on people’s For You Page. In a follow-up video posted Monday, Veal thanked fans for their support and mentioned that he’s staying at a friend’s house for the night.
“Being 17 and homeless with mental health issues is hard, and many of you are offering me a place to stay — but the goal here is to get help from the authorities who are supposed to provide it, social services,” he explained.
“I’ve seen many comments from people who really relate to what I’m experiencing,” Veal said, adding, “That’s messed up. That’s not right. How many kids have to endure this before something changes? Let’s make a change.”
Veal made his acting debut in the 2017 British drama film “My Name Is Lenny.” He portrayed Kid Loki, a younger version of Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief, in two episodes of the Marvel show’s first season in 2021. Veal has also appeared in shows like “Tin Star,” “The End of the F***ing World,” and “Call the Midwife.” His latest role was in the Prime Video sci-fi series “The Peripheral” in 2022.
